Bhagavad Gita says, “Intellect, mind, and senses: These combined are referred to as the seat of desire. Desire, through them, deludes and eclipses the discrimination of the embodied soul.” Desire suggests to the mind that freedom can be found only by satisfying its demands. This suggestion is a delusion.
